What does that have to do with anything?
Everything.
Americans throw things out that not only have practical applications, but that we do so in such quantity that it permeates every layer of our society across and even outside our geographic footprint.
We have entire, vast bodies of infrastructure, consuming more resources than entire nations, to do things that are fairly unheard of in most of the world.
